Weekly Updates, CW 43 2026, A commitment week
This week’s update covers calendar week 43 of 2026 (October 19–25).
Summary
I was looking back at my last couple of weeks, and I figured out that I was missing something: the commitment to accomplish something during the week. Yes, I was finishing stuff, but it was all random. I would spend some time working on something; it could be 10 hours a week, 20 hours, or as little as 5 hours. This is something I wanted to change, and I guess I was partially successful. I managed to finish reading “Tiny Experiments”, work on my PoC, and spend some time on a small side project.
Commitment
A couple of weeks ago, I made a weekly working schedule. This included time to read, work, learn, improve my Italian, etc. I don’t think that I managed to stick to it for even one week. The reasons varied: I was bored, sometimes something would take longer, I lacked motivation, etc. This time I wanted to do something different. My goal was to start with 20 productive hours a week, and I also wanted to know why I was interrupted.
I was a little bit off one day, and eventually I only managed 14 hours. To be honest, it wasn’t that bad, and I am planning to build on this for next week. You can find the log in this photo. Yes, I am old school and I like to use pen and paper :D

Tiny Experiments
I’ve finally finished reading this book after around three weeks. This part focused on the importance of being in a community, or a social flow as Anne calls it, in addition to the process of learning in public.
Personally, I loved this part. For me, it felt like it was talking about things that I already do and enjoy. I’ve decided to share my weekly updates in public. Usually, I share a lot of personal stuff on social media, or opinions to start discussions that help me grow. I still remember how much I enjoyed being a part of the Codeforces community. At some point, I was ranked among the top 200 contributors in the community.
One example Anne mentioned was Indie Hackers. I’ve already checked out a couple of the products there, and I even reached out to some founders. I think this would be something very interesting to explore.
Overall, I liked the book. It took me a little bit longer to finish, mostly because it is different from the types of books I usually read. I had to reread some parts, add my notes, and think about the different ideas presented, trying to focus on things that ring a bell for me.

PoC
The PoC for the product I am working on went well this week. I made significant progress on one part and experimented with different tools until I found results that are good enough for the MVP. I can still see areas for improvement here, and I already created placeholder stories for those improvements.
I still need to wrap some things up and start on the second part of the PoC. I’m not sure if I will manage to finish it next week, but I am happy with the current progress.
Indie Hackers
This is a great example I found while reading “Tiny Experiments”. It’s a global community, website, and podcast for solo founders and small teams who build, launch, and monetize profitable online businesses and software-as-a-service (SaaS) products independently. I have checked out many products there. One thing I liked is that many of them are small startups open to remote work. This is something that attracts me a lot, so I am planning to spend more time exploring there and reaching out to people.
Indignity: A Life Reimagined
This is another book I bought this week. I liked that it talks about the history of Albania and the transition from the Ottoman Empire to communist Albania. This is a type of book I recently started to enjoy reading. I’m not sure if I will immediately start reading it, but it’s one of my top options right now.

Next week
I have a few goals for next week:
- Have progress with the PoC.
- Start reading another book.
- Reach out to more people on Indie Hackers.
- Have more than 18 productive hours next week.
Conclusion
I hope you liked this post as much as I liked writing it. To be honest, it felt really nice to document everything I did in one week, and I feel really happy about it.
